Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the OPTCL Trainee Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet specific educational and age criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT): Candidates should have passed 10th (HSC) and possess a National Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade from an institution under SCTE&VT/NCVT with of 60% marks. For SC/ST/PwBD – 50%.
- Junior Management Trainee (JMT): Diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering having at least 60% marks and For SC/ST/PwBD – 50%.
Age Limit (as of 1st May 2025):
- JMOT: 18 to 32 years
- JMT: 21 to 32 years
- SC/ST/SEBC/Women: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years

- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Similar to JMOT the CBT for JMT assesses Subject Knowledge, Numerical Ability, General Knowledge & Reasoning, and English, with 80% weightage.
- Personal Interview: Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for a Personal Interview, carrying 20% weightage.
- Document Verification & Medical Test: Final selection depends on successful document verification and meeting medical fitness criteria.
Salary Structure
Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT):
- Training Period (1 year): ₹17,000 per month
- Post Training (Assistant Technician): Pay scale of ₹25,600 to ₹81,200 (Level NE-4)
Junior Management Trainee (JMT):
- Training Period (1 year): ₹30,000 per month
- Post Training (Junior Manager – Electrical): Pay scale of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 (Level EE-1)
